Iron-Nickel-Chromium Alloys

Composition

30-46% Nickel, 19-23.5% Chromium, 22-39.5% Iron. Traces of Niobium, Titanium, Aluminium, Carbon, Manganese and Silicon may also be included.

Common Shapes

 

Iron-Nickel-Chromium Alloys are commonly available in:

  • Sheet

  • Wire

  • Rods

  • Bars

  • Ingot

(Not all alloys or tempers available in all shapes)

Characteristics

  • Excellent heat resistance

  • Excellent corrosion resistance

  • Resistant to chloride-ion SCC

  • Superior creep and rupture resistance at elevated temperatures

Uses

  • High temperature Petro-Chemical applications.

Weldability

Iron-Nickel-Chromium Alloys are readily weldable. 

Machinability

It is possible to machine Iron-Nickel-Chromium Alloys via most of  the typical machining methods.
